Ultrafast Optical Sampling Finds Applications in Precision Measurement

The merging of optical sampling and femtosecond optical frequency combs has led to new technologies that find many applications in precision measurement. Here, we introduce the basic principles of asynchronous optical sampling Asynchronous Optical Sampling (ASOPS) and optical sampling by cavity tuning Optical Sampling by Cavity Tuning (OSCAT) and review the recent progress in their applications.
